Eurosport adds Vuelta a San Juan live rights to kick-start 2019 cycling season

• Eurosport lands global* multi-platform broadcast rights to the 37th edition of Argentina’s premier cycling race • Peter Sagan, Mark Cavendish and Fernando Gaviria all set to star in San Juan • Race marks the start of Eurosport’s biggest ever year of live cycling Eurosport has boosted its cycling rights portfolio by adding Argentina’s biggest road race to its unrivalled coverage of the sport later this month. The new agreement covers the multi-platform broadcast rights to the 37th edition of the Vuelta a San Juan, which this year features several top UCI WorldTeam’s and high-profile riders from the sport. The number one sports destination in Europe, has acquired the exclusive global rights* (excluding Latin America) for the seven-stage race between January 27 and February 3, 2019, and will air one and a half hours of exclusive live coverage per day across Europe and Asia on Eurosport and the Eurosport Player. The Vuelta a San Juan will kick-start Eurosport’s unrivalled live cycling coverage in 2019 which once again includes over 200 days and 2,500 hours of live action across its channels, covering all three Grand Tours, plus 35 UCI World Tour events, including all five Monuments. With legendary names such as Mark Cavendish and Peter Sagan, plus sprint star Fernando Gaviria making his debut with UAE Team Emirates, the race will once again serve as a launching pad into the 2019 season for Classics and Grand Tour contenders alike.
